Meet Grandmaster Chan Jung, the visionary Founder of Jeong's Family Taekwondo. With a remarkable legacy spanning decades, he's a former World Champion in 1979 and 1981, an Asian Games champion in 1980, and an astounding 18-time winner of the Korean Nationals.
He's also the proud recipient of two Presidential Medals in South Korea, recognizing his outstanding contributions to the world of Taekwondo.In the dynamic world of South Korean Taekwondo during the 70s and 80s, Grandmaster Jung emerged as one of the best and most respected champions.
His journey led him to become the national coach of South Korea, contributing significantly to the sport's development. In 1990, he established a Taekwondo Academy in South Korea. In 1999, he and his family immigrated to Canada, settling in St. Catharines, Ontario. March of that year marked the inauguration of the first Jeong's Family Taekwondo, which has since served the Niagara Region faithfully.
Under Grandmaster Jung's expert guidance, Jeong's Family Taekwondo has impacted thousands of students, enriching lives through martial arts. In 2010, our second location in St. Catharines-South opened its doors, followed by the Niagara Falls location in 2018.
Today, all our locations are proudly managed by the Jeong's Family, striving to provide the Niagara region with the highest quality martial arts experience. Our mission extends beyond martial arts, aiming to nurture crucial life skills in our students, including confidence, focus, discipline, social skills, fitness, and self-defence.
